Escape to Paradise: Royal Rajasthan Resort Awaits in Sikar!
Escape to Paradise: Royal Rajasthan Resort Awaits in Sikar! - A Whirlwind of Opinions & Real Talk
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because I've just waltzed (okay, maybe stumbled a bit) through the Royal Rajasthan Resort in Sikar, and I'm here to spill the chai (because trust me, I had a LOT of chai) on my experience. Forget the glossy brochure promises; this is the raw, unvarnished truth, peppered with the kind of thoughts that pop into your head at 3 AM. Let's get this show on the road!
First Impressions (and a tiny existential crisis):
Okay, so Sikar. Let's be real, it's not the first place that screams "luxury getaway." But driving up to the Royal Rajasthan Resort… well, that was a moment. It's like they've plucked a slice of majestic Rajasthan and plonked it right in the middle of… well, Sikar. The architecture is stunning – think opulent courtyards, intricate carvings, and a general sense of "whoa, I'm clearly underdressed."
Accessibility (Because Life Isn't Always Smooth Sailing):
Now, this is HUGE. While the resort says it's accessible, I’m going to be brutally honest. It’s better than some, but it's not perfect. Wheelchair accessibility is present, but not seamless. Ramps exist, but some are a bit steep. The elevator (thank god for elevators!) is a lifesaver. They have dedicated facilities for disabled guests, which is a plus, but double-check specifics before you book if accessibility is your primary concern. There’s airport transfer, which is great, and I appreciated the car park [free of charge] because nobody wants to pay extra to park! My suggestion? Call ahead, chat with the staff, and get the details. Trust me on this one.
Rooms - My Sanctuary (with a few quirks):
My room? Oh, my room. It was like a mini-palace! Seriously, I could have gotten lost in the Extra long bed! The Air conditioning was a godsend (Rajasthan heat is no joke). The Blackout curtains were perfect for sleeping in (which I definitely did, multiple times). And the complimentary tea? Genius. Seriously though, the room had everything: Air conditioning, Alarm clock, Bathrobes, a Coffee/tea maker, Complimentary tea, Desk, Free bottled water, Hair dryer, High floor, In-room safe box, Internet access – wireless, Laptop workspace, Linens, Mini bar, Mirror, Non-smoking, and a Window that opens.
But here's the messy part: I did find a tiny, tiny lizard on my wall during my first night. It was harmless, but it gave me a bit of a start. And while the Daily housekeeping was impeccable, I sometimes wished I could just be messy. But hey, that's part of the charm, right? The Separate shower/bathtub situation was a win, and the Toiletries were actually decent quality. Satellite/cable channels? Yep. Wake-up service? Check.
Dining, Drinking & Snacking (Fueling the Adventure):
Okay, food! This is where it gets exciting (and, potentially, where my waistline expanded). The Breakfast [buffet] was a feast. I'm talking everything from traditional Rajasthani dishes to good old Western breakfast. I may have accidentally eaten my weight in aloo paratha. The Asian breakfast was a worthy contender for my top prize, too! The Coffee/tea in restaurant was constantly refilled thankfully. They have a Vegetarian restaurant, which I really appreciated. They also had an A la carte in restaurant, though I didn't get around to trying it. The Room service [24-hour] was another win, especially after a long day of exploring. I did treat myself to a little slice of desserts in restaurant as well.
The Restaurant experience was very enjoyable. The Staff were very attentive, and the food was tasty. There's a poolside bar, a Snack bar and even a Happy hour - well, I had a happy hour, every hour!
What wasn't so great? The Buffet in restaurant was slightly chaotic during peak times. And the Bottle of water, while provided, wasn't always readily available. But hey, small price to pay for sheer deliciousness!
Things to Do (And Why You Might Never Want to Leave):
Okay, deep breath. Because this is where the resort truly shines. The Swimming pool [outdoor]? Stunning. Picture it: sparkling blue water, surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of… well, nothing but tranquility.
But let’s not forget your choices of things to do here: Body scrub, Body wrap, Fitness center, Foot bath, Gym/fitness, Massage, Pool with view, Sauna, Spa, Spa/sauna, Steamroom, Swimming pool, Swimming pool [outdoor]. Just thinking about it makes me ache for a return journey!
The Spa. Oh, The Spa.
Look. I am not exaggerating when I say the spa was the highlight of my trip. I treated myself to a massage, and it was pure, unadulterated bliss. The therapists were incredibly skilled, the atmosphere was serene, and I walked out feeling like a whole new person. The Sauna and Steamroom were equally divine. I actually felt my stress melt away. Honestly, I could have happily spent my entire vacation just in the spa.
Cleanliness and Safety (Because, You Know, 2024):
Okay, let's talk about the important stuff. I felt incredibly safe at the Royal Rajasthan. They’ve really taken cleanliness seriously. There's Anti-viral cleaning products, Cashless payment service, Daily disinfection in common areas, and the staff is trained in safety protocol. I noticed Hand sanitizer stations everywhere. I even saw the staff wearing masks, which makes me happy to see.
They also have a Doctor/nurse on call, First aid kit, Hot water linen and laundry washing, Hygiene certification, Individually-wrapped food options, and the Physical distancing of at least 1 meter was actively enforced. The Rooms sanitized between stays, and Safe dining setup made me feel confident. I also appreciate that they've removed Shared stationery – it's a small thing, but it shows they care.
Services and Conveniences (The Little Luxuries That Matter):
The staff were unbelievably helpful. Shout out to the concierge, who helped me navigate the local attractions and didn't bat an eye when I, uh, lost my way a few times. The Concierge was truly exceptional!
They have a Contactless check-in/out. There's a Convenience store, a Currency exchange, Daily housekeeping, a Doorman, and Dry cleaning. The Elevator was also very helpful!
They offer Luggage storage, Meeting/banquet facilities, Meetings, and Meeting stationery - which is awesome if you're here on business, but not my scene! They had Outdoor venue for special events, which looks beautiful.
There’s a Laundry service too. They provide the essentials like Essential condiments, Ironing service, Air conditioning in public area and even Luggage storage.
For the Kids & For the Grown-Ups (A little bit of everything):
While I didn’t travel with kids, it looked like the Royal Rajasthan is pretty Family/child friendly. They have Babysitting service and Kids meal facilities.
For the adults, there's a Bar, and Happy hour and of course the Spa.
Getting Around & Other Bits & Bobs:
- They do Airport transfer, which is great.
- There’s a Car park [free of charge], which is a huge bonus.
- They have a Taxi service, if you need it.
- Wi-Fi [free] throughout the resort, which is always a win.
- Check-in/out [express] for speedier departures.
- Non-smoking rooms, though there is a smoking area.
- Smoke alarms, to keep everyone safe.
- And, hey, they even offer a Proposal spot if you're feeling romantic. Get planning!
The Quirky Bits (And the Honest Truth):
Here’s the thing: the Royal Rajasthan Resort isn’t perfect. It's a little rough around the edges in places. There were moments when I felt a bit like I was on the set of a Bollywood movie (in a good way, mostly!). But that's part of its charm. It's not a sterile, cookie-cutter hotel. It's got character, it's got soul, and it's got a genuine warmth that I really appreciated.
My Verdict: Should You Book?
**Absolutely. But with a
Siliguri's Grand Palace: Luxury Hotel & Banquet Hall - Unforgettable ExperiencesAlright, buckle up, buttercups! Because we’re diving headfirst into the chaotic, glorious mess that is my planned Royal Rajasthan Resort Sikar itinerary. Don’t expect pinpoint precision here; this is more of a suggestion with a healthy dose of "winging it" built in. Prepare for a rollercoaster, folks.
Day 1: Arrival & The Great Camel Confusion (and a whole lotta dust).
- Morning (whenever the heck I manage to roll out of bed after that red-eye): Touchdown in Jaipur! The plan, in theory, is a smooth transfer to the resort. In theory. I'm already anticipating a logistical nightmare trying to wrangle a driver to even understand that the Royal Rajasthan Resort is actually in Sikar. Pray for me. And my luggage. I'm betting one of those suitcase straps will meet its demise.
- Afternoon: Okay, so we ARE in Sikar. Success! The resort is stunning, pictures don't do it justice, and I'm instantly hit with a wave of… well, a lot. Dust. Everywhere. But the dust is almost…pretty? Or am I just delirious from the travel? I'm checking in, trying to remember where I packed the sun cream and my sanity. The plan (again, in theory) is to settle in, maybe take a dip in the pool (if I'm not too afraid of the little water snakes they might have).
- Late Afternoon/Evening: The Camel Safari! THIS is supposed to be the highlight, the reason I booked this whole shebang. The brochures promised a romantic sunset ride, sweeping desert views, etc. But what if I get motion sickness on a camel? What if the camel is… grumpy? What if I fall off and make a complete fool of myself? The anxiety is real, people. I'll probably cry on the way there. But I'll try to smile. The guide will probably explain the history of the region and teach me some new languages. I'm getting cold feet already.
- Evening: Dinner at the resort. I'm praying there's something other than butter chicken (though, deep down, I'm totally craving butter chicken). Exploring the resort in the dark. I’ll try to keep the fear of wildlife at bay.
Day 2: The Rajput Forts and the Great Water Bottle Conspiracy.
- Morning: Okay, I'm going into this with a fresh perspective. A visit to the local Rajput Forts. I'm fascinated, and this is going to be amazing. Or at least, I hope it’s amazing. I'm anticipating heat, and the constant need for hydration. I have to keep buying water bottles! I swear they are plotting to overcharge me. I'll try to learn a little bit about the Rajasthani history.
- Afternoon: Lunch, then back to the resort. Maybe I’ll attempt to take a cooking class, if I stop getting distracted by the beautiful views and just soak in the moment.
- Late Afternoon: The pool again for a swim. I'm seriously hoping to avoid the water snakes.
- Evening: Explore the city and try to find some local markets. The market is probably going to be a sensory overload, and I will get lost repeatedly. Dinner somewhere in the city.
Day 3: The Spa Debacle and the Last Bite of Butter Chicken.
- Morning: The spa. The promised oasis of relaxation. I'm already envisioning a series of mishaps: the wrong massage oil, the masseuse misunderstanding my desperate pleas for a "gentle" massage (I'm ticklish!), and me accidentally snoring like a chainsaw. I would still adore to be relaxed, though.
- Afternoon: A lazy afternoon by the pool, reading a book and trying to ignore the persistent feeling that I've forgotten something crucial. (Probably my passport.)
- Late Afternoon/Evening: One last dinner at the resort. Maybe I will succumb to the butter chicken. Maybe I will try to savor it with every fiber of my being, knowing this might be the last time I eat it for months. Perhaps the last day is the most beautiful one…
Day 4: Departure and the Aftermath of Dust.
- Morning: Packing. Trying to cram all my souvenirs (and, let's not lie, the dust) into my suitcase. Saying goodbye to the resort staff. Promising to return.
- Afternoon: Transfer back to Jaipur airport (praying the driver definitely understands where he's going this time).
- Evening: Flight. Home. And the glorious, messy, beautiful memories of Royal Rajasthan, forever ingrained in my soul. And maybe, just maybe, I'll get all the dust out of my clothes by the time I get home… but I doubt it.
Quirky Observations & Rambles:
- The heat. Oh, the heat! It's like being hugged constantly by a giant, slightly sweaty, furnace.
- The colors. Everywhere you look, explosions of vibrant hues. It's almost overwhelming, in the best possible way.
- The friendly smiles. Everyone is so incredibly welcoming, even when they're probably judging my terrible attempts at Hindi.
- The goats! They're everywhere.
- I am 100% certain I will get lost at least 5 times, probably more.
- I'm already considering buying a camel.
Emotional Reactions:
- Fear. Excitement. Anxiety. Joy. Rinse and repeat.
- The anticipation is killing me. I want to be there now.
- I am going to be utterly, gloriously, utterly exhausted, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
This is going to be a trip… a truly unforgettable and memorable trip, full of memories and moments of pure chaos.
Wish me luck. And, if you happen to see a panicked woman frantically searching for her sunscreen, come say hello. I’ll probably be in desperate need of a friend.
